Water Quality in the Animas River Watershed

Reflection
To be honest, learned very little information by doing this project. My main focus was on the construction of the final product and the actual content we were presenting. That content was mostly researched and written by my partner Akos. I did, however, learn the very basics of or topic in order explain our project at the exhibition.
However, through this project, I greatly improved my collaboration and communication skills. My partner was a headstrong exchange student from Hungary. His English is great but there is still somewhat of a language barrier so we often had trouble understanding each other's ideas and avoiding miscommunication.
Our product was a large physical model which posed a challenge for me because, though my partner is truly a brilliant student, he had barely touched a power tool in his life, so I lead the construction of the model and did my best work as a team.
Water quality is important to study because it has a significant impact on our lives, especially because Durango relies heavily on the Animas watershed for drinking water, recreation, tourism, and much more. It is important to understand the mechanisms that affect water quality and how water quality affects us, the users of the river.
